Julian of Norwich, for me, is a rainbow who bridges heaven and earth, the mysteries of life and death, personal experience and church doctrine. Like a rainbow she reflects the essence of light in sunshine and rain, blue skies and cloud.
Julian's direct, powerful, personal visions when she was at the point of death, give insight into the divinity within us and how we can draw closer to that higher self through contemplative prayer and self awareness.
Julian's visions reassure us of how much we are loved, and they show us the way in which divine love works constantly, enfolding, recreating, keeping us in weal (happiness) and woe.
