“Love was his meaning.”
“Our soul is kindly rooted in God in endless love.”
“In his love he wraps and holds us, He enfolds us for love, and he will never let us go.” - words from Lady Julian of Norwich
In this Quiet Day, you are invited to explore the wisdom of Lady Julian, fourteenth century visionary, whose revelations are as relevant today as they were then. Julian is thought to be the first woman writer in English with her book, “Revelations of Divine Love.”
Denise Treissman’s life was transformed over thirty years ago through discovering the Julian Shrine in Norwich, meeting the Chaplain of her Shrine, the Reverend Robert Llewelyn, and discovering, through studying “Revelations of Divine Love”, encouragement and inspiration for her life. For the last sixteen years, Denise has been sharing the wisdom of Lady Julian with others around the country.
Julian’s words can help us realise the divine within and discover how much we are loved. There will be the opportunity through meditation to relax into the sunshine of God’s love; through mindfulness to experience the wonder of the natural world, "the still point at the centre”; Julian’s wisdom will be explored in choosing quotes from her writing, in gentle movement and holds, and there will be space for personal reflection and creativity, listening to music and sharing.
Denise Treissman has been leading days on Julian of Norwich and Meditation for sixteen years and more recently leads Wellness Workshops using Capacitar Practices around the country. Denise loves to share Julian’s encouragement and love with others to empower people to celebrate their innate goodness and grow in hope, light and love.
